Editorial Policy

The Inheritant is an independent publication about well-made objects of lasting value and everyday use.

Everything featured is selected by the editor, on the strength of its design, the quality of its making, how well it does its job, and its cultural or material significance. We look for things that are less familiar and that reward ownership well beyond a trend or a season.

Selections are made independently. A place in the magazine cannot be bought through payment, advertising or a commercial partnership. The Inheritant may work with brands, or provide creative, editorial or private curation services, separately from its publishing. Those relationships do not decide what is featured. If a piece of content is ever sponsored, it will be clearly labelled as such.

Where a link to buy is included, it is there for the reader's convenience. The Inheritant may be paid a commission by the seller through such links, which helps keep the publication running. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.

We take accuracy seriously. Makers change their products, and we make mistakes. If you find an error, write to office@theinheritant.com and we will correct it.
