Edhèn, Comporta Studs
[Acquire from Edhèn Milano]
A house slipper with a little armour.
Made in Italy · Black Tuscan calf · Gold studs
Why it's here
Edhèn is a young Milanese house that makes one kind of shoe very well: the low, soft loafer descended from the Belgian slipper. The Comporta takes its name from the stretch of Portuguese coast where much of Europe now spends August. This version adds a row of gold studs across the strap, which gives a gentle shoe just enough edge for the evening.
The object
The upper is black calf from Tuscany, polished by hand to a soft shine. The sole is a thin layer of leather with a rubber heel, so the shoe bends easily and makes almost no sound. The studs are set one by one along the strap.
Living with it
Wear them without socks, with linen in summer or with dark trousers after eight. The sole is thin, so keep them for dry pavements and indoor floors, and they will stay supple for years.
