Bob Vokey's wedges are the most played on the professional tours. This limited edition leaves the steel unplated, in a brown-black finish called Oil Can, so the head darkens and wears with every round. Most equipment looks its best on the day you buy it. This looks better after three seasons, and that is why we picked it over the chrome version.
The object
The head is 8620 carbon steel, a soft metal that players favour for its feel off the face. With no chrome on top there is no glare when you stand over the ball in bright sun. The grooves are cut to the tightest tolerance the rules allow and heat-treated to last.
Living with it
Do not polish it. Wipe it dry after a wet round and let the surface change as it will. The wear pattern on the face will show you exactly where you strike the ball.
